I rejoice that yesterday I met beautiful people during facilitated workshop From Stress to Reset. Hello to all of you who were there!
We spoke about burnout, early signs to pay attention to, what is overlooked, simple tools to prevent burnot and did practices.
And I promised you to share extra useful information from my research. And it is a lot for an email and then I desided to make a post.
So, I want to speak with YOU about physical energy, which is the body's fundamental resource that enables you to act, concentrate, and cope with daily demands. It depends on the quality of your sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and recovery.
Without sufficient physical energy, every other area of life is affected. It becomes more difficult to maintain social relationships, engage in creative activities, work effectively, and learn. That is why taking care of your physical health is the foundation of productivity and overall well-being.
Although these habits may seem simple, numerous scientific studies confirm their effectiveness.
Hydration
Start your day with a glass of clean water. This helps your body wake up, maintains proper hydration, and supports the healthy functioning of your digestive system.
The recommended daily water intake is approximately 30–40 ml per kilogram of body weight.
Balanced Nutrition
A nutritious, well-balanced diet is one of the key factors in maintaining physical energy and good health.
If you are just beginning to develop healthy eating habits, keep a food diary. It will help you evaluate both the quality and quantity of the food you consume.
Your diet should primarily consist of:
vegetables and fruits;
protein-rich foods;
whole grains;
healthy fats.
Your meals should be varied, balanced, and enjoyable.
Daily Walking
Walking is one of the most natural and accessible forms of physical activity.
It helps to:
keep your body active and fit;
recover more quickly after mental exertion;
reduce stress and anxiety.
A recommended goal is around 10,000 steps per day. If you spend long hours working at a computer, regular walks are especially important.
Morning Exercise
Even 10 minutes of morning exercise can improve your well-being and boost your energy for the day.
Any form of activity—stretching, yoga, jogging, or a short workout—stimulates the release of endorphins, reduces stress, and improves concentration.
Breathing Exercises
Take short 5-minute breaks throughout the day to practice deep breathing.
These exercises help to:
reduce stress;
recover more quickly;
regulate emotions more effectively;
relieve muscle tension.
Regular Breaks
Take a 3–5-minute break every hour.
Even a few minutes of rest can help:
reduce fatigue;
maintain concentration;
prevent overload and burnout.
Quality Sleep
Sleep is one of the most important factors for health, recovery, and longevity.
During sleep, the body restores both physical and mental resources, strengthens the immune system, improves memory, and enhances the ability to cope with stress.
Maintain a Consistent Sleep Schedule
Go to bed between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., and wake up at the same time every day.
A consistent sleep schedule helps your body fall asleep more easily and wake up naturally.
Get Enough Sleep
The optimal sleep duration for most adults is 7–9 hours per night.
Sleep quality is just as important as sleep duration.
Create a Sleep-Friendly Environment
Sleep in a dark, quiet, and comfortable room.
Before going to bed, turn off the television, music, and other sources of noise. Avoid falling asleep on the couch or in an uncomfortable position.
Limit Blue Light Exposure
Reduce your use of electronic devices 1–2 hours before bedtime.
Light from screens suppresses the production of melatonin—the hormone responsible for helping you fall asleep. Whenever possible, use night mode and warm lighting.
Practice a Digital Detox
Avoid using electronic devices for at least 60 minutes before bedtime.
This helps your brain gradually transition into rest mode.
Avoid Eating Right Before Bed
Have your last meal 2–3 hours before going to sleep.
This supports better digestion and improves the quality of your night's rest.
Make Your Bedroom Comfortable
The optimal bedroom temperature is 17–19°C (63–66°F).
Ventilate the room before bedtime and maintain adequate humidity.
Sleep in Complete Darkness
Use blackout curtains or a sleep mask.
Darkness promotes the natural production of melatonin and improves sleep quality.
Practice Meditation
Spend a few minutes meditating or practicing mindfulness before bed. This can help you relax, reduce anxiety, and fall asleep more quickly.
Today, listen to a Yoga Nidra session before going to bed.
Sound Bath
It is my favourite tool which helpes me immediately to sleep much much better. I am happy to know the best professionals in the Netherlands and when I feel like I need to improve quality of my sleep, I go to there event.
Create Your Own Evening Routine
Repeating the same evening habits signals to your brain that it is time to rest.
Your routine might include:
reading a book;
taking a warm shower;
self-care;
keeping a gratitude journal;
gentle stretching or meditation.
A consistent evening routine helps improve sleep quality and makes it easier to fall asleep.
I really hope that you will take one thing and practice it for a week for example and check the influence on you. We all in this matter need to be a researcher. Do not believe, check it.
Keep courage when it is not easy and just MOVE ON! MOVE FORWARD!
Much love,
Mila
